Greentea Peng releases new single 'Free My People (feat. Simmy, Kid Cruise)', following on from the mellow sounds of 'Dingaling'. The new single sees reggae guitar strums meet dub-heavy bass and a skippy beat. A wandering keyboard melody plays throughout the song, weaving between the psychedelic electric guitar riffs. Greentea Peng's lyrics are as relevant and hard-hitting as ever, as she repeats, 'we don't want to chat until our people free'. Getting straight to the point, she asserts, 'you don't get to tax me on what god gave me, paying for hypnosis of the TV screen'. The video that accompanies the tune is beautifully shot, showing performances from Greentea, Simmy and Kid Cruise. There's burning of sage, smoking in the bath tub and, of course, sipping of of tea.
